About me

This smiling Asian American man with a mustache is a LCSW psychotherapist appearing in his private office in Brooklyn, NY, where he treats issues like grief, life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ identity, and men's issues.

I am a therapist and educator living and working in Brooklyn, NY, with a background in health care and social justice. I am currently licensed to practice in New York State and am accepting new clients with Aetna, Cigna, and private pay.

Therapy is something we co-create. In my experience, it works best when it is present focused, is trauma informed, is pattern aware, links thoughts with feelings and behaviors, and centers the relationship you have with yourself as a process that we experience together, learn from, and shape.

I have worked with and am open to clients of diverse identity and experience. I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ people, older adults, veterans, people living with serious illness and injury and their caregivers, and the dying.

I studied at Columbia University and the NYU Silver School of Social Work, where I was a Zelda Foster Studies Program Fellow in End-of-Life and Palliative Care. My past experience includes work at the Manhattan VA Medical Center, Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, and the American Civil Liberties Union. I’ve completed trainings through the IFS Institute and Calvary Hospital.

I teach Grief, Loss & Bereavement at Fordham University, and my writing appears in The Practice of Clinical Social Work in Health Care (2023) by Springer Press.
